Abstract

Data quality improvement through standardized input forms is important because enterprise systems depend on accurate, complete, and consistently captured data for operations, reporting, and decision-making. Standardized forms help control how users enter names, dates, addresses, codes, numbers, categories, and mandatory fields across different departments and applications. Existing literature highlights field validation, dropdown lists, input masks, mandatory field rules, format control, default values, and error messages as major practices for improving data entry quality. However, many organizations still face challenges such as inconsistent formats, missing values, spelling variations, duplicate records, invalid codes, and manual entry errors caused by poorly designed forms. This research is important because weak input controls can reduce data reliability, increase cleansing effort, and affect enterprise reporting accuracy. This article discusses data quality improvement through standardized input forms, focusing on form design, validation rules, controlled vocabularies, mandatory fields, duplicate prevention, user guidance, and error handling. The study concludes that standardized input forms improve data accuracy, reduce inconsistencies, strengthen system reliability, and support better enterprise information management.
